Avatar photo Dennis Cheatham is an Associate Professor of Communication Design at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He is Graduate Director of the MFA in Experience Design and a Research Fellow in Miami's Scripps Gerontology Center. Dennis practiced design for fifteen years as a creative director, graphic, interaction, and experience designer in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. He holds a Master of Fine Arts in Design-Innovation Studies from the University of North Texas as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design Communication and a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing from Texas Tech University. Dennis's research explores ways to design products, services, and systems to produce relevant and meaningful experiences. His work focuses on advance care planning and topics in aging. Prior to his academic appointment, Dennis worked as a creative director, interaction, and experience designer for 15 years in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
